How To Eliminate The Self-sabotaging Presence Of Fear:
Fear is the most prevalent cause of failure and underachievement you can have in your life. It is an enemy to progress that must ruthlessly be confronted. To eliminate an enemy, you must first understand it. Let us therefore examine fear and its origins closely:
1. There are four primary distorted emotions. Three of them arise from the fourth – fear. Fear is the cause of protectiveness, pain, and anger (which is but a mask to hide our deepest fears).
2. There is a pervasive and underlying fear in every person; a fear of our vastness trapped in the little prison of our body as its means of expression. Because this fear is too big to handle, each individual finds a manageable substitute to focus his or her fear on a fear of loss, a fear of inadequacy, a fear of death or illness, and a fear of destitution, for instance. They find a focus for the big fear and then fight against it in order to maintain that focus on a manageable substitute.
3. Here’s how to eliminate the substitute fear in order, to eventually, master the big fear through mastering the mind:
Set aside a time to give your substitute fear an opportunity to tell you why it’s valid. Then explain to it why it’s not helping but hindering your ability to live a successful and full life. Command that it leaves immediately. Tell the fear you are the master of your own destiny and you will not allow it to exist in you anymore. Every time the fear arises, banish it and refuse to indulge it. Then immediately replace it with a thought or memory that makes you happy. As you do this more and more, it will grow weaker until it leaves you alone.

Is there a better explanation of “a fear of our vastness trapped in the little prison of our body as its means of expression.” 😔 I dont understand how I can feel it…. Id rather deal with that fear, but I dont understand it.

I was thinking about anger today. When it arises from a dysfunctional Inner Warrior who has suppressed the expression of what is not acceptable, is that also based in fear? What is the base fear when we allow the unacceptable and then release anger in the wrong directions? The fear of being judged by the person who has violated our boundaries or the fear of losing peace may be an origin of the process, but I don’t feel like it carries into the misdirected and delayed expression of anger towards others. Oh that would be ironic that a fear of being judged and disliked would eventually cause one to lash out at unwitting participants, fulfilling the fear with others!
“Or the dysfunctional Inner Warrior becomes aggressive and hostile; venting his or her anger on others because of all the suppressed expression of what is not acceptable. This suppressed expression to defend one’s personal boundaries can also create depression or self-harm.”
I’m on the precipice of grasping something here.
