Question: What about political manipulation? How does that play on our flaws?

In order to control the public’s opinion and influence world views, politicians exploit man’s most basic needs: the need to belong to a tribe or group, the need for an identity and to feel that our life has meaning. Hitler used these human flaws to program the minds of an entire nation. He provided the demoralized post-war one Germans with a self-important identity. He gave them a tribe by providing a contrived common enemy: the Jews.
Our answer to restoring self-sovereign wholeness to the psyche (which increases its invulnerability), lies in expressing and communicating with our subpersonalities. Others can easily manipulate us if we are not home for ourself and if we do not have a supportive inner family (see Journey to the Heart of God). The second step is to carefully observe the origin of our actions (called by the Toltecs “stalking oneself”).
By the very nature of this sacred journey, we are at the cutting-edge of human perception. This creates original thought and actions in our lives. Lofty thoughts and high-mindedness, assures that we will not be swept along the tide of the masses’ low minded belief systems into un-impeccable behavior.
It’s interesting that Canada’s current Prime Minister ran on a platform of ” real change” and has appointed a cabinet with half the members being women and lots of minority members. He calls it a cabinet that “looks like Canada”. Most are first time members of parliament. Very “lofty and high-minded” indeed. 🙂
He also makes it a point to meet with the Canadian people in groups as federal employees or at Tim Horton’s etc. and get them working WITH government. The people are loving it!
Why is everyone missing the part where he swears allegiance to the Queen of England, her heirs and successors? Couldn’t this be changed to Mother Nature, who continues to nurture us, or the Sun which continues to give us life and light, why a limited human being? Where is the change when they are still reading an old swearing document. This is what I perceive, when the PM condemns himself to another human being swearing servitude to the Queen, her heirs and successors, that is not freedom or mastery.
