Continuing in our series of miracles (which we started last week here in our run up to the Night of Miracles), we wanted to share a sweet story of a miracle involving a serendipitous event. Here is one of the entries that was shared earlier this year.
This little miracle brings forth the joy of discovering something from the old into the new. How through reconnection of the unobvious, a little miracle can be birthed, complete with a cosmic connection. I think you will enjoy this one too!
Christel – Thailand
In 1973, I was in Yogjakarta, a city in the heart of the Island of Java in Indonesia. Before the huge eruption of the mighty volcano Merapi in the year 1008, the area must have been a center of temples and stupas. Left for mankind today, is the Stupa of Borobudur, one of the holiest sites not only for Buddhists, but for all seekers of wisdom. The Merapi volcano continues to erupt smoke almost every day, reminding people of the Inner Force there is. I was walking through the narrow streets of tiny houses and stopped at a small antique shop. A little animal statue of bronze, caught my attention, about 15 cm long, a strange little beast. It had an elephant trunk, two horns, it had a fish skin, a body, feet and face like an antelope, and it also had wings.
It was as though that little beast was looking at me. I bought it, not knowing why and not wanting to know either. I just paid for it, and put the animal in my bag and left. I put this animal on a shelf at home with books and forgot about it. When I moved outside of Bangkok, this animal showed up again in a box. “Who are you”, I asked. It seemed the animal was laughing. I was confused, but put the animal out again on a shelf with books. There it stood until early 2013. The only thing I knew by then, this beast was a Makara – a Makara, which can swim, fly and run. Makaras are those mystical animals one can find all over the world. Here in Asia, one will see them as reliefs in most Buddhist and Hindu temples.
I have never met Almine in person, but discovered her one day on the internet. Later, I ordered a Star transmission and the one who connected with me was one who is especially interested in the animal world on our planet – and he showed his favorite animal, a Makara. An antelope Makara! The painting he did through Almine showed his favorite animal, just like that little statue on the book shelf.
I rushed to get the statue, and looked at it. The name Almine mentioned as my new friend, I understood as “Ustredsch”. I called him to apologize that I had neglected the little statue for so long and told him, whatever I can do as a friend to let me know. Of course I took the little statue and put it in front of my favorite Buddha statue in my bedroom. Thereafter I discovered I had 12 other Makaras in my house!
