There once was a sage sitting on the bank of a river. A devotee approached and asked to be taught. There was no reply, so he went away, only to return a few months later. Again he asked. This time the sage grabbed him and plunged his head under the river’s water until he struggled for breath. When the sage finally released him he said; “When you want to learn as much as you wanted to breathe, you will be ready to be taught.”
