A SNEAK PEAK AT THE TEXTS ON ALMINE’S PHONE
Question: What does an Immortal Master text to her son, the Congressman?
She had to clean out drawers of her house, as it gets ready to be sold. She explains that she has kept a trunk of memorabilia for each of her children. She managed to save her son’s Teddy from his childhood, but had to get rid of Packy, the stuffed elephant.
She used to do a puppet show for him each night with his stuffed animals. Teddy was always the hero. Packy was addicted to cream puff cookies. Here’s what she texted him:
OBITUARY
I propose we observe a moment of silence for one who has fallen in our midst– Packy the Elephant. We choose to believe in the nursery fairy and trust that somewhere in Africa there’s a little grey elephant with pink ears asking to be shown the way to the nearest cream puff bakery. You will be missed Packy, and your loss keenly felt by those you leave behind.
He texted back: Amen.
