Quiet and serene
In my evening routine
I come to bid the day goodbye
In the afterglow of day
Like thistle-down are they
Clouds float across the sky
In distant fields
Of scarlet poppies and wheat
The church bell calls the workers home
Although I cannot see
I imagine there to be
Hope, on their toil-worn faces from the bell’s
welcome tones
As they lay their sickles down
On a dusty road to town
A shepherd herds his fold
In the gentle close of day
Enticed by promises of hay
They stream on, their fleeces gleaming gold
In a misty haze
In the sun’s last rays
The drowsy town stills before me
Suffused in peace
My tension leaves
Like a bird that shakes the raindrops from a tree
Jennifer Evette Rivera says
I speak in riddles only not to embarrass myself, fully – If a sparrow wanted to become a Peacock, If a person read a book & wanted to be the character, if they wished & prayed really hard …. would it become so?
Thank you.

I see
Before me
so much beauty in your words
That seeds in your warm heart
to reach ours
to open the flow
of Love and Abundance
Thank Beloved Almine <3

I agree with all the others, this poem is simply beautiful and reminds us of the softness & realness of life; items that often go unnoticed. It also brings us all together into a realm of peace and beauty.
