Question:
What ways do others use my love against me?
The Seer:
Some people (person A) use the tendency of a loved one (person B) to make excuses for A’s conduct, to give his or her unresolved personality traits, validity. Another similar way that A uses B’s love to excuse parts of themselves they don’t like themselves, is that the dysfunctional interpersonal dynamic assures A that he is lovable. The flawed reasoning of A is that if they show B their worst side and B keeps forgiving them and staying with them, that indicates that they are lovable.
A way in which A drains B’s energy is through conflict. The reasoning is as follows: B has more energy than A because B conserves energy by living a harmonious and deep self-examined life. But if A can fight with B, B becomes A’s opposite and the universe tries to equalize opposites (the law of compensation). Energy is taken from B and given to A. From the interaction A feels energized and B feels drained.
Seems very unjust doesn’t it. I dare say that most original ones are the B in this scenario and have experienced this dynamic before. We have to be so careful that we don’t pacify dysfunction in others no matter how much we love them. Family dynamic comes to mind when I read this, and it confirms I made the correct decision to distance myself from my family (pathological blamers). I love them, but remotely, and it’s felt a lot better that way.
This has to change!
