Diahhrea
Slippery elm powder assists in regulating the bowel. Mix about a teaspoon of the powder into the baby’s cereal. Use about two doses per day. Eliminate fruit juices and use rice or oatmeal to bind the bowel movements.
Constipation
Some baby cereals, like rice cereal, can cause constipation as does insufficient water intake.
Babies should have bottles of pure water as well as fruit juice and milk.
A teaspoon of slippery elm powder mixed into fresh pear puree is also a valuable help.
Older children can eat figs, prunes, and real maple syrup.
