A flock of foam
In the azure dome
A little cloud appears
In lightening arrayed
With a thunderous display
It grows and draws near
Cumulus formations
On a westward migration
Cover the desert sky
Dark shadows below
Across the sand they go
Like a ghostly army rushing by
From their burrows they come
To see the demise of the sun
Lured by the promise of rain
The coyotes yelp in dismay
Then scurry away
As thunder roars and complains
With heavy thuds
Bullets in the dust
The rain pummels the sand
The desert’s thirst is slaked
The earth trembles and shakes
A million footprints lie across the land
In the blink of an eye
The rain subsides
In its aftermath new life begins to grow
The desert storm rolls by
Through the valley from side to side
Rumbling farewell as it goes
Jana says
In the vastness of the Infinite
The seeds of magic grow
In the playfulness of a child
Magical life glows
Like a twinkle in the eyes
Inspires all the stars
To create the Field of Hope.

Superb!
Magnificent!
The imagery of rain as bullets – “heavy thuds” – on the expanded warmth of the stillness of desert sands is unforgettable.
Thank you!
