A man was to be granted his heart’s desire by a genie if he could fulfill one condition: he had to walk through a cornfield from one side to the other and observing the ears of corn, he was to pick the most perfect one. The only requirement the genie made was that the man could not turn around and go backward; he had to continually move forward on his quest.
As he walked through the field, he found many perfect ears of corn but believed the most perfect, the most beautiful, still lay ahead. He failed to recognize and access the beautiful affluence that surrounded his every step, waiting instead for a ‘perfection’ that lay ahead. He finally came to the far edge of the field and had to abandon his quest empty-handed and with no bounty to present to the genie.
Let us seize the affluence of this moment.
